Restaurant O

Chef O’Neil, a Michelen-starred chef that relocated from Italy to Coos Bay, for love, and his attentive staff, manage this newer restaurant serving Italian-inspired tapas and cocktails overlooking the bay. The atmosphere is an open concept kitchen and reservations are recommended. Truly a destination in itself with a world-class dining, Chef O’Neil is also our preferred local partner for catering wedding and events. From his soups, to bruschetta, to main courses, and desserts, every selection on his menu will be a memorable and exceptional experience.

The Boat Restaurant

You know the saying “what’s old is new again?” What was once the popular floating restaurant Unger’s in Winchester Bay, is now The Boat, located next to the Railroad Museum on U.S. Highway 101. The building itself was originally a houseboat, and has since been converted to a great eatery with a large, dog-friendly deck outside. The menu features a scrumptious fish ‘n chips plate, along with seafood platters, burgers, chowder bread bowls, salads, and more.

Noster Kitchen

For those looking for wholesome, healthy options, this downtown dining spot has proven to be a popular place for breakfast and lunch. Their menu features meals that can accommodate most dietary needs, including dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and more. Their delicious lunch bowls are made from scratch using minimally-processed ingredients and fresh produce. Seating is both indoors and outside on their enclosed patio.

Abby’s Legendary Pizza

This popular Pacific Northwest pizza chain has vintage décor, arcade games, and best of all, consistently delicious pizza. They offer an extensive list of round table pizzas with lots of creative toppings, using the freshest ingredients. Go for the thin crust, or opt for deep dish, or gluten-free crust. Among their ready-made options are the Greek Vegetarian packed with artichokes and feta, or the Poor Boy Special loaded with beef, bacon and tomatoes.

Sushi, Anyone?

Sumin’s is one of the best places in town for the freshest sushi, Korean, and Chinese food, and is nestled in the historic downtown area. The sushi is freshly prepared with great skill and care, but the other dishes that populate the menu are also well worth it, particularly the teriyaki chicken, tempura vegetables, and egg rolls. It’s a small family-run restaurant, with an intimate vibe and friendly service.

Blue Heron Bistro

If you’re in search of some traditional German cuisine and great beer in Coos Bay, Blue Heron Bistro should be on your list. They’ve dished up authentic food since 1976 in a cozy, nostalgic eatery. They pride themselves on their many homemade dishes, including freshly baked German sourdough, a warming potato salad, and comforting desserts. The beer is reason enough to pay a visit, with a great selection of German varieties to choose from.

Sharkbites Seafood Café

Sharkbites has won several awards for serving up some of the best seafood along the Oregon Coast, where everything is prepared from scratch using the freshest of ingredients. The fish tacos, Dungeness crab cakes, clam chowder, burgers, and calamari are all winners, including the Southwestern slaw tacos, which come packed full of beer-battered cod, Monterey Jack cheese, and guacamole. Wash it all down with a refreshing cocktail, and be sure to check out the eclectic surf shop before you leave.

Coos Bay is becoming a destination of itself, and we welcome you to stay with us in our cabins, airstreams or RV Sites at Bay Point Landing, and explore the Southern Oregon Coast!
