Blog: Mountain Biking the Whiskey Run Trails

What could be better than a pleasant sunlit stroll through the lush green canopies of Coos Bay’s natural forests? Well, speeding through them on a mountain bike of course!

Mountain biking in Coos Bay has been gaining traction in the last few years (just check out this 2019 video from Outside Online) and is set to become one of the area’s latest and greatest attractions.

Two wheels can tear through the Whiskey Run trails, a thoughtful and recently-built trail system located in the Coos County forest. Only a 25-minute drive from Bay Point Landing, Whiskey Run offers a variety of trails and difficulty levels, is shuttleable, and seems to be constantly expanding. Not only will you find some awesome trails to traverse, but the views, refreshing greenery, and serene streams will keep you coming back for more.

If fat biking in Southern Oregon is more your thing, break out the chunky wheels on the beach from Coos Bay to Brookings or at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area

Whether you’re in granny gear or in full-send mode, mountain biking in Coos Bay seems to have it all.
